Small on the wall, big on the bill
A Mitsubishi wall-mounted unit hangs high on an exterior or interior wall, connected to the outdoor unit through a single 3-inch hole. It monitors the room, adjusts fan speed automatically, and throws air across the ceiling so you feel the temperature, not the draft. On low fan the FS series runs at 19 dB — quieter than a library. The i-see® sensor on premium models scans the room and directs air toward or away from people.
Wall units pair with Hyper-Heat outdoor units for full heating at 5°F, which makes them the workhorse of whole-home conversions off oil and propane across Upstate NY.

Questions about wall-mounted units
How high on the wall does it go?
Near the ceiling — typically 6–8 inches below it — on an exterior or interior wall with room for the line set to reach outside. It can go on an interior wall if we can route the line set through the attic or basement.
Does it need a wall outlet?
No. Indoor units are powered from the outdoor unit through the line-set bundle; the outdoor unit gets its own dedicated circuit from your panel.
How do I clean the filters?
Lift the front panel, slide the two mesh filters out, rinse, dry, replace. Every few weeks in heavy use, monthly otherwise. It takes two minutes and it's the single biggest thing you can do for efficiency.
Can it heat a large open floor plan?
Yes — an 18k or 24k unit covers a large open living/kitchen area. For a whole floor with separate rooms, a second unit or a ducted air handler usually works better than one oversized wall unit.
Will it drip?
Condensate from cooling drains through a line to the outside; we run it downhill with the line set. No pan to empty, no pump needed in most installs.
What's the price difference between FS and GL?
FS is the Hyper-Heat unit with the highest efficiency and the i-see® sensor; GL is the value line and still excellent for cooling-first or secondary-heat rooms. We spec FS for primary heat in our climate.
