See a Mitsubishi Heat Pump On Your Wall Before You Buy One
Wondering how a ductless heat pump would actually look in your living room, bedroom or on the side of the house? Take a photo, place the unit where you'd want it, size it to a door for true scale, and keep the picture. It's the same placement tool our estimators use in your home — so if you book a free estimate, they already know where you want it.

How the Wall Preview Works
Point your phone at the wall where you'd like the indoor unit — usually high on an outside wall, clear of curtains and cabinets — and take the photo. The tool drops a Mitsubishi unit onto your picture. Drag it where you want it, pinch to size it, or tap Size from a door and touch both edges of a door in the photo: the unit is then drawn at its real width (a Mitsubishi FX wall unit is just over 39 inches wide), so the picture is honest about how much wall it takes. Tap Looks right, enter your name and number, and the picture is texted and emailed to you.
Which Unit Should I Try?
- Wall unit — the classic ductless head. Mounts high on the wall, heats and cools one room or an open floor plan. The most common choice in Upstate New York and Vermont homes.
- Floor console — sits low on the wall like a radiator. Good under windows, in rooms with sloped ceilings, and for anyone who prefers heat near the floor.
- Ceiling cassette — recessed into the ceiling, nearly invisible. Needs attic or joist space above the room.
- Outdoor unit — the compressor that sits outside. Try it on the spot you have in mind; our estimator checks line-set runs, clearances and snow height when they visit.
What Happens With Your Photo
Your picture is saved with your contact details so we can send it to you, and it's attached to your record if you book a free in-home estimate. The estimator sees where you'd like the unit before they arrive, takes their own placement photos of the install spots and your electrical panel during the visit, and the final estimate shows a picture on each room's line item. We never post your photos anywhere.
A Picture Is Not a Design
Where a unit can go depends on the wall construction, the refrigerant line route to the outdoor unit, the condensate drain, and your electrical panel's capacity — which is why every Superior CO-OP HVAC estimate includes a room-by-room heat load and a panel check. The preview helps you picture it and talk it over at home; the estimate makes it real. For the money side, run the Heating Cost Calculator — most oil and propane homes are surprised by what they already spend.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the tool work on a computer?
Yes — on a laptop or desktop you can upload a photo you already have instead of taking one. On a phone it opens the camera directly.
Is the unit shown at the right size?
If you use Size from a door, yes: the tool scales the unit from a standard 30, 32 or 36-inch door in your photo to the real product width. Without a door in frame you size it by eye.
Can I try more than one wall?
As many as you like. Tap Try another wall after each picture. Each photo you keep is sent to you and added to your record.
Which Mitsubishi units are shown?
The images are Mitsubishi Electric product photos: the FX-series Hyper-Heat wall unit and H2i outdoor unit, the MFZ floor console and the MLZ one-way ceiling cassette — the equipment we install and stock as a Diamond Contractor ELITE.
Rebates Available
New York homeowners switching from oil, propane or electric baseboard to a Mitsubishi cold-climate heat pump qualify for National Grid or NYSEG rebates, and Vermont homes qualify through Efficiency Vermont plus utility bonuses. Rebate amounts change by program and tier — we tell you exactly what your home qualifies for at the free in-home estimate and handle the entire application for you.
