What humidity level should my home be at?

Roughly 30 to 50% relative humidity year-round. In winter, staying near the lower end of that range prevents condensation on windows while still eliminating static and dry air discomfort. In summer, staying below 50% is what makes a house feel genuinely comfortable rather than cold and clammy.

Will a better air filter fix my dust problem?

Sometimes, but not always. If dust reappears within a day of cleaning, the cause is frequently leaky return ductwork pulling dust from an attic, crawlspace, or basement and distributing it through the house. In that case no filter fixes it — sealing the ducts does. We identify which problem you have before selling you equipment.

Is a high-MERV filter always better?

No, and this is a common and costly mistake. A very restrictive filter in a system not designed for it raises static pressure, reduces airflow, hurts capacity, and can cause the system to trip on limit or freeze the coil.
