4 Mitsubishi H2i® HSPF2 Rating

Why Mitsubishi H2i® is different: Standard heat pumps lose significant efficiency below freezing — often requiring a backup electric strip or fossil fuel system to take over. The Mitsubishi Hyper-Heating INVERTER® (H2i®) MUZ-FX series is engineered to deliver 100% rated heating capacity down to -10°F and continue providing heat all the way to -22°F — without a backup system. This calculator uses your selected HSPF2 rating as-is for all climate zones, reflecting the real-world cold-weather performance advantage that makes H2i® technology genuinely different.
HSPF2 (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor, 2nd edition) measures how efficiently the Mitsubishi H2i® unit converts electricity into heat across a full heating season. Higher = more efficient = lower running costs.

Mitsubishi H2i® — entry models: ~10.0 HSPF2
Mitsubishi H2i® MUZ-FX — mid-range (most common install): ~10.5–11.5 HSPF2 (100% capacity to -10°F; heating to -22°F)
Mitsubishi H2i® PLUS — top models: 12.0–14.0+ HSPF2
